Hande Sigman is the heir to a family whose devotion to the natural world spans generations. Her roots trace back to the cultivated botanical estates of Crimea, where her grandfather, Süleyman Bey, oversaw expansive herbal grounds and maintained a refined apothecary in Istanbul. His knowledge was not commercial; it was custodial, passed through the household, not the marketplace.
This tradition continued through Nihat Sigman, a philosopher of the philosophy of nature, whose works and private lectures further shaped the family’s contemplative relationship with the living world. Within this quiet inheritance, Hande was not taught to invent, but to guard, refine, and continue.
